Forward Processing

• Collection 4 codes are presently being used for Aqua and Terra land processing.
• The land processing will transition to Collection 5 on dataday 001,2007.
• Collection 5 forward processing started for Aqua atmospheres on dataday April 1, 2006 and Terra atmospheres started on dataday Jul 1, 2006.
• Collection 5 forward processing for Terra Oceans SST will continue until late 2006.

Collection 5 Reprocessing

• Aqua atmospheres reprocessing started on April 10 and was completed on July 17.
• Terra atmospheres reprocessing was started on July 18 and will be completed by mid-December.
• Terra land reprocessing was started on June 30.
• Aqua land science testing is in its early stages. The latest test versions are shown below. It is expected that Aqua land reprocessing will start in early 2007.
• Once the reprocessing has started, it is not expected that there will be any Level 1 code changes other than LUT updates to maintain consistency with the codes used in forward processing. Very infrequent changes are expected in the Level 2+ codes. Such changes will require the explicit agreement of the PI Processing (PIP) group.
